Actor Mammootty recently joined the annual day celebrations of Kalabhavan, one of the oldest performing arts centres in Kochi, which has moulded many renowned actors including Jayaram,
Kalabhavan Mani, Shajon and directors Siddique and Lal. At the occasion, the superstar gave away the award instituted in the name of Fr Abel, the founder of the organisation, to director Siddique. While felicitating the director, Mammootty divulged that he is also fond of mimicry and had tried it a bit during his younger days. “If Kalabhavan had begun in 50s, probably even I would have had Kalabhavan as prefix,” he said.
Actor-director Ramesh Pisharody, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Thesni Khan, Bibin George and Kalabhavan Haneef were a few others present. Here are some glimpses.
