Movie buffs across Kerala made a line to the capital city on Wednesday to pay homage to veteran filmmaker Lenin Rajendran. The crowd gathered at the University College campus in Palayam and in the premises of Chalachitra Kalabhavan in Vazhuthacaud reflected the late director’s wide circle of colleagues, friends and admirers. , Ministers AK Balan, C Raveendranath and KK Shailaja, actors Suresh Gopi, Nedumudi Venu, Maniyanpilla Raju and Sudheer Karamana to mention only a few.

The filmmaker, who made a number of critically acclaimed movies including Swathi Thirunal, Daivathinte Vikrithikal and Mazha, bid adieu to the world on Monday at Chennai. He was undergoing treatment after a liver transplant surgery at a private hospital. He was also chairman of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation. His body was kept for public homage at his alma mater, University college and at his office in Thiruvanathapuram.
