Kerala Lalithakala Akademi awards distributed

The Kerala Lalithakala Akademi fellowship and the 47th State awards were distributed in Thiruvananthapuram recently in a grand ceremony.
The awards, comprising a sculpture and a citation, were distributed to the respective winners by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the event held in VJT Hall.
To add to the celebrations of the award distribution ceremony, the audience were treated to a cultural fiesta of programmes.A musical gig of 'mizhavu panchari melam' by a group of percussion musicians under the guidance by Kalamandalam Achuthananthan mesmerised the audience.
The cultural gala was followed by a classical dance cum spot painting by dancer Lija Dhinup. Culture minister AK Balan, actor Indrans, G Rajendran, Nemom Pushparaj, Ponnyam Chandran and Thiruvananthapuram Mayor VK Prasanth attended the event.
