Carnatic musician K N Vijayarajan, popularly known as Vijayarajan master, was felicitated by his disciples and music aficionados at Changampuzha Park, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
Vijayarajan, a native of Mattancherry, has been teaching music for more than 50 years and he has numerous disciples, prominent among them being music director M. K.
Arjunan. The occasion also saw music concerts by Sreevalsan J Menon and a group music performance. His disciple
M K Arjunan was among the viewers.
Vijayarajan was introduced to music at a very young age and has received advanced training from Thripunithura Raghava Menon and M. R. Sivaraman Nair. He has taught vocal music at the Sangeethakalalayam and at the Sangeetha Kalanikethan for decades together.
