Showing a new way to reform the state from havoc caused by flood is a group of artists, at the capital. More than 90 of them joined in for a two-day art camp at Napier Museum on Wednesday to conduct a painting show in order to raise funds for relief operations for flood rehabilitation works.
As the Kerala government has banned all State-funded cultural activities across the district for the next one year, the art camp of these artists shows how to utilize art to mobilize funds for the relief works.
The paintings created by the artists at the camp organised by Kerala Lalithakala Akademi will be put for an exhibition cum sale at Musuem art gallery on September 10 and 12.
The income earned from the sales will be later contributed to flood relief operations. The art camp was inaugurated by sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman by drawing a portrait of sound designer
Resul Pookutty.
