What better way to kick off the Soorya Festival than by a carnatic music concert by singer KJ Yesudas? The musician charmed the assembled crowd in the auditorium at AKG centre, Palayam, with his melodious music for over an hour. He began the evening with the carnatic kriti Sarasijanabha and later went on beautifully render Sree Subrahmanya Namasthe.
The show also marked the 42nd kacheri of Yesudas at the Soorya Festival, which promotes Indian cultural art forms. Yesudas, who now doesn’t do many public performances, is a regular presence at the fete, making it a must-go event for music enthusiasts and his die-hard fans.
