The two-day Kanpur Literature Festival (KLF) turned out to be a huge attraction for Kanpurites. The festival, which was organised after a gap of a year, gave literatis of the city an opportunity to explore new books, participate in discussions and be the part of intellectual gatherings. ’s session on the story of India through its coins. During the session, he enlightened the audiences about how coins are the reflection of the eras and society.

Actress Meghna Malik also participated in the festival and ecited a poem penned by her mother. “This year I had no plans for KLF but the organisers insisted that I be part of the event. Though it is a quick and unplanned visit, I am really happy to be here," she said.

The visitors at KLF were left bit disappointed as actor Rajendra Gupta, actress

Sushmita Mukherji

and filmmaker Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi failed to attend the festival. Rohit Tandon, official spokesperson of the fest, informed,” Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi had to return to Mumbai from Kanpur airport as he got a call for an urgent meeting. Rajendra Gupta and Sushmita Mukherji also got stuck with work.”

Kalapini Komkali

What added to the attraction of the lit fest was the enthralling performance of classical singer Kalapini Komakali. Another attraction of the fest was the musical session of s Dr Bipin Kumar Mishra and Pandit Amarnath Jha where they regaled audiences with their singing.
