Bringing the traffic to a halt, their impromptu dance performance delighted scores of their fans who had gathered there. “What’s up, Jaipur?” asked Varun to a loud cheer be the crowd. Both the actors had a brief chit-chat session with the movie buffs, after which Alia sand a few lines from one of the songs in the film. The two again danced together and Varun also played the dhol.

Pink in the Pink City
Alia chose a bright pink ethnic ensemble for her visit, while Varun was wearing an off-white Pathani suit. Alia said she had chosen pink for a reason – she was sporting a baby pink dress when she arrived at the airport. “My cheeks turn pink whenever I come to Jaipur. And that’s why I am wearing a pink suit, which is also from Jaipur. Also, I’m playing a Rajasthani girl Roop in the film and so I’m really happy to be here.” She played a Kota girl in Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

Varun said that Jaipur is an important city for the film industry and that it has always proved lucky for him. Varun added, “Jaipur is very important for the entire film industry. I remember my father would always make a call on the release day and ask, ‘Raj Mandir cinema bhar gaya kya?’ That used to be the benchmark for a film’s success. Also, I have mostly started my film promotions from Jaipur and it has always proved lucky for me. Fingers crossed – I hope this film also becomes a huge success.”
