The mere mention of Hariyali Teej that signals the arrival of monsoon is enough to make Jaipurites happy. What marked this year’s auspicious celebration of Teej was the unique contest organized by the Times of India. Competitions like Turban Tying and Best Hennaed Hands were held at the Pink Square mall, which attracted a huge crowd. Soaked in true festive spirits of Teej and sporting hennaed hands in intricate designs and stylish georgette saris in lehariya patterns, women in the age group of 18 to 30 participated in huge number.
Newly married Preeti who came with her husband Sunit, participated in the turban tying competition and walked away with a prize.
The Best Hennaed Hands competition was a big hit among women. “I never knew that it can fetch me an attractive prize too. Thanks to my mom who brought me here for shopping and luckily I got a prize,” said a college student
