Shubha Mudgal mesmerises Jaipur audience with her live performance

Once again live shows are back in the city known for hosting events and celebrating rich tradition of art and culture. Recent in the series was to witness versatile singer Shubha Mudgal performing live in Jaipur under the banner of Sur Aur Saaz, an initiative bringing distinguished traditional singers, musicians, and performing artistes of the country.

The musical evening was decorated with the spellbinding music with renowned Mudgal. She sang various hymns and rhymes started with ‘kanihya khelan holi. Singer known for her different textured voice, vowed the guests that came to savour the richness of the Hindustani music. And undoubtedly, Mudgal did not disappoint her audience and presented best compositions from her collection. It was a sheer musical treat for Jaipur’s Hindustani music lovers. She mesmerized the audience with various diverse thumris over holi. She was accompanied by Aneesh Pradhan on tabla, Sudhir Nayak on harmonium, Siddhartha Padiyar on dholak and Pavithra Chari on tanpura and vocal support.

Sur Aur Saaz is an initiative is designed to showcase the diverse performing art and culture of India. It is like a jugalbandi between the performer and the art that is played out in words for the audience. It strikes the right chord with the audience with arresting conversations between distinguished artistes and the conversationalists.
