Print making workshop concludes with an exhibition



The

Print Making workshop

organized by the School of Design, JECRC University in collaboration with

Jawahar Kala Kendra

as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav concluded. About 40 prints made by the participants were displayed. On this occasion, eminent printmaker, Subroto Mondal visited the exhibition as a special guest and encouraged the participants. Certificates were also distributed to the participants at the end of the workshop.


The participants were trained in printmaking by

artist Dwarka Prasad Choudhary

. As many as 35 participants of different age groups participated in this 10-day workshop and understood the intricacies of printmaking. The participants were given information about printing material, composition and basic lines. Apart from this, they were also taught layout and design development. Art movies of Picasso and Satyajit Ray were shown for visual development and several interactive sessions were also conducted. During the workshop, filmmaker, Nidhi Saxena discussed the montage film with the participants.

The coordinator of the workshop, Jitendra Sharma said that the participants enthusiastically participated in the workshop. Interactive sessions, storytelling, thought sharing and philosophical sessions were also conducted for the participants. The objective of this was to enhance the basic skills of the participants and bring about a change in their personalities. Graphic design student and participant of the workshop, Chari Aggarwal said, “In the workshop, we were taught in detail about the printing methods of acrylic, leno and zinc plate and the technique of printing, etc. During this time we also discussed the artworks of Picasso and Hussain Sahab as well as learned about screenplay together. Also, we were taught how to present our ideas on sheets.”
