On the completion of theatre workshop titled ‘New experiments in theatre’, a play titled Chandrama Singh Urf Chamku was staged at Rangayan auditorium of Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur. The play has been written by Bhanu Bharti and directed by Abhishek Mudgal. The play was presented by Rang Mastaaney, a theatre group in Jaipur. The play’s story is inspired by Lu Xun’s Chinese novella, The True Story of Ah-Q.

The story of the play revolves around a man named Chamku, who lives in a village called Ikbari. All the villagers disregard him, but he shakes off all humiliation and tries to live a happy life. Chamku has a habit of always bragging or boasting about himself and his accomplishments, real or imagined. This leads him into a lot of troubles, which is the premise of the play. Tikesh Kumawat played the role of Chamku in the play.
