On Friday evening city bikers gathered together for a virtual tour of Ladakh. Jeypore Bike Riders and 60kph Motorcycle Travel Club organised a special screening of the documentary film Riding Solo To The Top Of The World by filmmaker and rider Gaurav Jani. The film is based on Gaurav’s solo motorcycle journey from Mumbai to one of the remotest places in the world, the Changthang Plateau in Ladakh.
“This was our first initiative to share the experiences of our co-biker who had done many expeditions and has made films as a one man unit. Soon Gaurav will be in town and will interact with city bikers to share more,”said Pritam Shitoot, one of the organisers.
Capturing the beauty of the Himalayan landscape and the warmth of the people, the 90-minute film by Bangalore-based Gaurav has been screened at more than 21 film festivals across the globe. “It gives an overview of the life of nomads living in Ladakh and a contrast of his life with theirs,“ said biker Anil Gautam, founder of SAAHAS.
