Jaipurites enjoy a morning of Shekhawati music at a temple

Kathak Brothers performed on Sunday morning at Mandir Shri Kalki Ji. The twentieth episode of Soul Connect witnessed Kathak Brothers, the seventh generation of performers, presenting old Shekhawati music.

Recipient of many awards including Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi award and Bhatkhande award, main vocalist, Sanwar Lal Kathak has well-established control over his voice and music.

This spectacular morning began with the soothing Ganesh Vandana, Mangaldata Buddhividhata, which was followed by the other bhajan Hari Tumharo.

The melodious ambience of the temple was enhanced by yet another bhajan Phag Ghunghroo Baandh Meera Naachi Thi. This surreal morning ended with the Keertan- Maadhav Govind Hare and left the audiences overwhelmed. Sanwar Lal was accompanied by Parmeshwar Lal Kathak on tabla, Kishan Lal Kathak on sitar and Mohit Kathak on pakhavaj and Master Rahul Kathak on manjira.
