Jaipur extends unmatched warmth to everyone: Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt
The Grammy and Padma Bhushan awardee says, “There is no doubt that Jaipur is celebrated across the world for its rich heritage and timeless legacy. This recognition has added yet another feather to its colourful cap, making people like us proudly say, ‘Yes, this is my Jaipur.’ And rightly so—Jaipur possesses a character and charm that simply cannot be found anywhere else. Having travelled across the globe multiple times, I can confidently say there is no other city in the world quite like the Pink City.” He adds, “I have received several invitations to settle in some of the world’s richest countries, but never once did I consider moving my base away from Jaipur. The fact that this is also my mother’s city deepens my emotional connection to it. Its magnificent heritage monuments, forts, palaces, art, and culture have certainly played a significant role in earning this recognition, but what truly sets Jaipur apart is the unmatched warmth and affection it extends to everyone who comes here.”
This international recognition will further elevate the city’s stature: Ramu Ramdev
The National Award-winning artist says, “Jaipur has always distinguished itself through its art, culture, architecture, and rich history. This international recognition will further elevate the city’s stature, adding new dimensions to its vibrant cultural landscape. Coming from a family of miniature artists, with four National Award recipients in the present generation itself, I feel immensely proud that Jaipur has earned this prestigious recognition as one of the world’s best cities for art and culture. Despite rapid modernisation, infrastructural growth, and technological advancement across sectors, the city has preserved its traditional art, crafts, customs, and cultural heritage with remarkable authenticity. This honour stands as a powerful reminder of that enduring pride.”
Jaipur is a treasure trove of creativity passed down through generations: Dr Madhu Bhatt Tailang
The Dhrupad singer shares, “Every festival and celebration in the Pink City reflects its vibrant traditions and timeless cultural spirit. Art and heritage come alive in every narrow lane of the old walled city, making Jaipur a true treasure trove of creativity passed down through generations. Our forefathers played a significant role in enriching the city’s artistic and cultural legacy. As the only female Dhrupad singer in Rajasthan, I feel this recognition carries a deeply personal significance, as it also honours my family’s remarkable contribution to the tradition of Dhrupad singing.”
This award will encourage the entire creative community: Gulabo Sapera
The Padam Shri Award-winning dancer says, “Every time I see Jaipur making its mark on the global stage for its art and culture, the feeling is truly indescribable. This international recognition is not just an honour for Jaipur, but also a ray of hope and encouragement for artists like me and the entire creative community. It is a celebration of our city’s rich legacy and a reminder that our efforts to preserve and carry forward this heritage are being acknowledged worldwide. Such milestones inspire us to strive for continued excellence and make Jaipur even prouder through our artistic journey.”
How Jaipur made it to the prestigious list
Jaipur has secured its position with a 77 per cent quality score and a 69 per cent affordability score. Its packed cultural calendar featuring events such as the Jaipur Literature Festival, Teej and Gangaur celebrations, the kite festival, vintage car rally, polo matches, and musical performances has shaped the city into a remarkable blend of heritage and creativity. Traditional art forms including blue pottery, miniature painting, Bandhani, Leheriya, block printing, Kundan and Meenakari craftsmanship, along with centuries-old musical traditions like Dhrupad and the Jaipur gharana of Kathak, have all contributed to this global recognition.
