Femina Miss India 2023 Nandini Gupta visits alma mater in hometown, drives tractor and meets villagers

After a warm welcome in Jaipur, the newly crowned Femina Miss India 2023 Nandini Gupta had another round of celebrations in her hometown Kota.

From visiting her alma mater to driving a tractor in a village and riding a chariot, her itinerary was packed. Her homecoming started with a visit to her alma mater, Saint Paul’s Senior Secondary School, Mala Road - a school that has played a key role in shaping up her personality. An overwhelmed Nandini said, "“When I entered my school campus I had tears in my eyes. I spent 14 years in the campus. And every time when I used to see a chief guest gracing our school event and addressing students from the podium I used to imagine myself up there. I manifested this dream for the longest time and today it has come true. I am thrilled to have returned to my alma mater as a celebrity."

Nandini further adds, “It was a pleasure to have met my teachers again -they have guided and helped me become what I am today. Everyone wanted to click a picture with me -that was a high for me." The homecoming celebrations continued with Nandini riding a chariot like a royal, on the Kota streets. " She recounted, "I sat in a chariot, waved towards everyone and felt like a princess. I could see everyone smiling. Even those who didn't know me, joined the celebration. It's almost as if the entire city was part of my victory, after all, my win is Kota's victory too."

Nandini also visited a village (Bhandaheda) near Kota and met farmers. From tasting a traditional meal, enjoying a ghoomar dance to driving back home on a tractor, Nandini's day was special. “The farmers had organised an event to celebrate my achievement. It was so wonderful to meet them and talk about various things ”
