The ‘Urubhangam’ episode is based on the character of Duryodhana during and after the war between Bhima and Duryodhana. It was shown in the play that Duryodhana was superior to Bhima in the mace battle. During the war between the two, when Bhima was failing to defeat Duryodhana, then as per the orders of Shri Krishna, he stabbed Duryodhana's thigh and injured him. The central screenplay of this play was the same as in the original Mahabharata. But Bhasa changed the formulation of the story by changing some perspectives. The most extreme variation in this was that while Duryodhana was depicted as a villain in the Mahabharata, in the drama Urubhangam, he was shown to be more human. Often tragic plays are rare in Sanskrit, but the author's display of Duryodhana's side in the story added a tragic element to this play.

The artistes who performed in the play included— Kamlesh Sayar, Atmaram Sinhal, Surendra Joshi, Bijendra Singh Gurjar, Vivek Parashar, Aditya Chandra Swami, Saraswati, Siddhi Maheshwari. The decoration was done by Aslam Pathan and the clothing was done by Vivek Mathur and Ashish Motwani. Vipin Sharma was also the Stage Manager of the play.
