Jaipurites celebrated their weekend amidst the bright colors of flowers. In this unique show was organized by the Kitchen Garden Association, people saw flowers of more than a thousand species. On the last day of the flower show, principal secretary DB Gupta and additional chief secretary Veenu Gupta were present as chief guests.
Shyamlata Verma, president of Kitchen Garden Association, Jaipur, said that flowers of rare species and Ayurveda related plants were also displayed in the flower show.
To make the show interesting, competitions was organized in different categories, in which the winners were rewarded by the chief guest.
Organizer Shyamlata Verma said that plants of Bad, Peepal, Kejurena, Fax, Jade, Pine, Tilakhan were displayed in the show. In the category of Vegetables and Fruits, 35 species and 25 types of flowers like Hollyhock, Benthones, Antireyanum, Lithium, Elysium, Marigold, were displayed. Winners were awarded in different categories of flowers, vegetables, flower pots, creative gardening, etc.

Dr Shashi Bhargava, an amid gardener and convenor of the association, says, "We are stunned to see some of the entries by our members. Few of them have very creatively and beautifully displayed their plants and won awards in various categories." Somprabha Khandela's succulent displayed on wooden log won outstanding entry of the show and Sangeeta Tiwari won prize for creative landscape in a tray with wooden log.
