'Udaan' to spread information about Hornbills

Udaan, a short film on the fascinating breeding behaviour of Indian grey hornbills by city based ornithologist Ajay Gadikar was the hero of "Takali Talk" session that was organised on Saturday.
In addition, there was a talk on "Hornbill Watching" by Mr. Ajay Gadikar and Mr. Dinesh Kothari.They spoke about their experience of observing the Indian Grey Hornbill for several years and its unique breeding methods.The Female Hornbill enclosed herself in a tree trunk for the entire duration of the breeding, about 2 months, and the male Bird takes upon the task of feeding her as well as new borns until they are fit to leave the nest.
