Razia Bee staged at SJMC event

Written by renowned Bollywood actor and poet Piyush Mishra - Razia Bee was staged in Indore during the Media Mantra fest organised at School of Jounalism and Mass Communication at DAVV. It was directed by city based eminent theatre personality Nitesh Upadhyay, and actors from his group Anvaratt Theatre group played the characters penned by Mishra.
The 45-minute musical and lyrical play is based upon an elaborate poem written by Piyush Mishra in his book of poems.Protagonist Razia Bee, played by city based artiste Urmi Sharma takes the audience through the struggles and pains of survival of a woman in a patriarchal society. The popular lines 'Tum Meri Jaan Ho Razia Bee' reverberated across the auditorium, as the the audience stayed enraptured throughout the act unfolding on stage.
