Paint parties replacing Kitty parties

A really new concept of

paint parties

has come up recently in the city where people come and art their way out of their routine lives. To break the monotony of 9 to 5 jobs, now people are indulging in paint parties.

Priyal Modi, an

architect

by profession who was an active participant expresses, “The entire process was exhilarating. It was my first time to do artwork in two hours, not thinking about anything else. It was quite relaxing.” Adding to this Aayushi Jain, a

businesswoman

among the participants shares, “Colors are very fascinating for me. They are excellent to let out emotions. The most important was that through these entire two hours, I could be with myself and ease off.” While some people found it relaxing, others found the whole concept of a paint party to be a socialising affair. Ritika Rathi, a media professional and an amateur artist shares her experience, “I am not a painter, but the paint party was conducted in such a way that I didn’t at any point feel that I was competing. It has been more of a lucrative experiment for me. I can’t believe what I have created.”

With around 20 participants, the paint-party really made the impact it was intended to. Bhawna Lunia, one of the organisers of the event says “Basically this was our kind of Kitty-party. Anyone can come, eat, talk and draw- have fun, to be precise and go back to their daily lives with an artwork that they create in these two hours.” Adding to Bhawna’s idea, Mohini Jain, the mentor of the paint party shares, “Since childhood I was into painting and with my changing life, I somehow managed to continue doing my

hobby

. I wanted to do something different where in everyone just comes in with an open mind and just paints, releases some stress. It’s like an

artistic

get-together. We hold these events every once in a few months to give life a break.” The paint party went on for two hours and everyone was given a reference to follow, and were taught to create the artwork. People from different age groups enjoyed the activity and it was definitely a huge success.

These art-oriented parties are more than just a get-to. They are giving substance to a social affair which can be felt and experienced and not just described.
