Meeta Pandit bring lesser known ragas to fore
While Indore loves its classical music, there are many hundustani ragas that are not know to everyone. At a SPICMACAY event in a city based school, Gwalior gharana exponent, Dr. Meeta Pandit took the audience on a journey of exploration of Raga Deshkar. She presented some rare bandishein from Hindustani Classical genre.
She commenced the program with a bhajan "Hari tum bhaktan ke hitkari." This was followed by two compositions in Madhya laya and Tarana based on the morning raga Alihya Bilawal.

The words were, "Hari so chakradharaoon." With the support of Hitendra Dixit on the tabla she also explained the 'Teen taal' and 'Solah matras' to the students.
She concluded with a bhajan "Ram naam ras peejai" composed by Meera bai.
Accompanying her during the performance were Hitendra Dixit on the tabla, Ravindra Killedar on the harmonium and also her student Swasti Mehul Jain from Shivpuri.
