got together at the Jimmy McGilligan Centre in the morning with their solar cookers to participate in the festival. With 22 solar cookers, people prepared 30 delicacies and relished it together. From Sindhi curry to Benagli mix pulses and dahi vada to Indori moong bhajiya, people prepared an assortment of Indian dishes. Talking about the fest, director of the centre

Janak Palta McGilligan

said, “My husband Jimmy had left his native country UK and served as Baha’I pioneer in India for 25 years. He was an ardent promoter of sustainable development. He is no more and following his ideologies and wishes, I have been organsing solar week for seven years now. However, we have organised a proper food fest for the first time and I am amazed to see the participation of people.” Dev Kumar Vasudevan, an environmentalist added, “The joy of cooking a meal together and sharing it with everyone is unparalleled. And cooking together with a purpose is a celebration in itself.” The enthusiasts were seen bonding over the joy of cooking together.
