DAVV's youth festival got off to a colourful start

's (DAVV) much-awaited youth festival got off to a colourful start on Thursday. Dance, singing and various art competitions mark the first day of the event. The day started with the classical solo dance at the university auditorium in which nine students took part. It was followed by group dance competition. , Gujarati, Marathi folk songs.

Instrumental competition was the major highlight of the day 1. “Every year, the inter-college level competitions used to get over in two days. This year, it will be a three-day event. We got good response from the students,” DAVV spokesperson Dr Chandan Gupta told TOI.



Institute of Management Studies (IMS) hosted a literature event in which 40 students participated. The participants were selected through a written test. Under the discipline of fine arts, competitions like Rangoli, clay modeling, on the spot painting witnessed 25 participants from different colleges. The topic for rangoli was ‘nature’ whereas for the clay modelling it was ‘Navratri’ and on the spot painting was done on ‘rural India’.
