“It is right here that I first dreamt of becoming Miss India. I did not know if was capable of it, but one of my lecturers encouraged me to try out. There has been no looking back after,” says an emotional Manasa adding, “I was calm and composed ever since I won the crown and even when I reunited with my family. But the love showered on me by my lecturers and friends made me well up.”

Manasa also admitted to feeling ‘overwhelmed’ about returning to college. “I have always lived by the notion to feel curious about the world. Wonders will find their way back to you if you live with curiosity. So, after being in Mumbai and winning the crown, returning back to college feels like coming back home, it’s an overwhelming feeling and I’m brimming with gratitude. All I can do to return this love is to promise to do my best and take this responsibility seriously. I want to make our nation proud,” she says, rounding off.
