In India, Cricket isn’t just a game, it’s a religion. It’s a sentiment we share with our neighbour, Pakistan. And when India locks horns with Pakistan on the cricket field, all hell breaks loose in both the countries. A play, Last Over, based on these extreme emotions, was staged in the city on Friday. Featuring theatre veterans
Rakesh Bedi and Ananth Mahadevan in prominent roles, the situational comedy in Hindi, explored
inter-communal marriages set against the backdrop of an India-Pakistan match.
Rakesh Bedi as the Punjabi Jat, and Ananth Mahadevan as a Pakistani professor did full justice to their characters and made the audience roll in the aisles. The play was organised in a bid to raise funds to take up sanitation works in 27 government schools.
