Tollywood pays final respects to veteran actress Vijaya Nirmala

All roads led to Nanakramguda, to the residence of veteran actor-filmmaker Vijaya Nirmala, who passed away on Thursday. People from across the Telugu film industry came to pay their
respects to the departed and offer condolences to the grieving family. Vijaya Nirmala’s husband, Krishna, was inconsolable and was seen breaking down at regular intervals.

Her son Naresh received the visitors who came to pay tribute to the veteran actress. Among the prominent film personalities who visited the family at their residence were Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Jayasudha, Vijayashanti, Raghavendra Rao, Murali Mohan, Mohan Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Tammareddy Bharadwaj, among others.


The younger generation — Lakshmi Manchu, Sai Dharam Tej, Vamshi Paidipally, Charmme and Rashmika Mandanna were also present. Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao also paid a visit to the grieving family.



Having acted in over 200 films and directed 44 films, Vijaya Nirmala was an iconic actress who leaves behind a stellar legacy that will continue to inspire women in the Telugu film industry.

She was a visionary who was truly ahead of her time: Namrata Shirodkar
Actress Namrata Shirodkar, who’s married to Vijaya Nirmala’s step-son Mahesh Babu penned an emotional tribute to the actress and called her a "pillar of strength" to the family. Taking to her social media handle on Friday, Namrata posted, "For me, she was a woman of substance... A woman I travelled with for 14 years of my married life... she was a warm, loving and caring soul... she was strong, brave, fun loving and full of life !! Her zest for life was Uncompromised... she was a visionary and truly ahead of her time in her thoughts and deeds... this was Vijaya Nirmala garu for me! She was a pillar of strength for her family and her loved ones... today I wish her a beautiful journey ahead and send her all the love and light I possibly can... You will be terribly missed Vijaya Nirmala garu. It's truly unimaginable to know that I will never see u again. #RIPVijayaNirmalaGaru (sic)."
