Given that it was ‘Ramzan ki aakhri Jumma’, known widely as Jummat-ul-Vida (last Friday of Ramzan), a large group of faithful gathered wearing their traditional clothes and caps, to offer their prayers.
There was a sense of brotherhood in the air as the devout applied ittar before beginning the prayers and warmly embraced each other. After the prayers, there were smiles all around and the youngsters even posed for selfies in front of the iconic Charminar.
“Since childhood, I never miss the opportunity of coming to Mecca Masjid to offer prayers on the last Friday of Ramzan. Jummat-ul-Vida is an auspicious occasion for us and there’s always a wonderful vibe around the Mecca Masjid and Charminar on this day,” said Anwar Basha, a youngster who came to offer his prayers with his friends.
