Fashion and fun took centrestage as National Institute of Fashion Technology, Hyderabad’s (NIFT) annual fest, ‘Spectrum’ kicked off this week. Preparations for the two-day extravaganza had been on for a while and the excitement in the campus was palpable right from the start of the new semester.
And it all culminated in a very eventful first day that saw a performance from noted stand-up comic
Abish Mathew.
“All the students have been working really hard to put this fest together. It was very heartening to see all our efforts coming together so well. My favourite part was Abish Mathew’s performance. He went a step ahead and did his homework on NIFT, so all his jokes were centered around our life on campus and we laughed our hearts out,” said Saurabh, a third-year student who was also part of the organising committee.
Other than the cultural evening and competitions in which students from various city colleges participated, there were also a plethora of stalls selling delectable treats for the students to enjoy.
Bringing out their creative side, NIFTians also set up a stall called ‘Calista’ that sold clothes and accessories handmade by them.
Even after the tiring first day, the energy was far from dying out as the students looked forward to the activities ahead. “I am waiting for the fashion show. It is the best part of our college fest,” said Aakriti, an excited NIFT student.
