Sarpanch Akhila from Telangana implementing lockdown in her village effectively

Madnapur

in

Nalgonda

has been taking all measures to keep her village safe from the coronavirus pandemic.

She took the decision to immediately cut off the village to outsiders by blocking the roads leading to it and ensured only essential and emergency vehicles passed by. Being the youngest sarpanch from Telangana, she’s being lauded by public officials for her efforts in following the norms of lockdown and social distancing.

Akhila even shared a video on social media where she explains to the children of the village, through paintings, to maintain social distance. The frontline workers of the village too joined her in their efforts to spread awareness. The sarpanch is also taking time out to urge the public to maintain hygiene and wash hands regularly.
