‘Padmavathi Parinayotsavam’ a sublime three-day annual fete with a colorful touch of nature got off to a royal start at Tirumala. The "Phala-Pushpa Shobhita Vedika" made from varieties of fruits and flowers for the ceremony was a spectacular sight for the hundreds of devotees who had travelled to witness it.
The fete began when the procession deities of Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy Varu seated on Gaja Vahanam along with his consorts Goddesses Sri Devi and Bhu Devi reached the Parinaya Mandapam in Narayanagiri Gardens.
Later on, the deities’ marriage took place in a completely traditional way and was followed by events like Edurukolu, Pumala Marpu, Vastrala Chadivimpu, Pu Bantata and Venchepu.
Thousands of devotees from far-flung distances participated in this colorful and celestial festival and got immersed in the devotional mood that lasted till late evening.
