Over 600 students pledged to exercise their right to vote
In a bid to encourage students to exercise their right to vote this coming Telangana Legislative Assembly elections on December 7, the Times of India in association with the Election Commission of India (ECI) launched a campaign titled ‘No Excuses Day’ at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering & Technology, Banjara Hills on Thursday. To be continued till December 9, the campaign aims to sensitise students and first-time voters about the significance of the electoral process.

educated generation should not let go of the opportunity of nation building. ” saysAnjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City.

Pullela Gopichand and Rajat Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer, ECI, graced the do and urged the youngsters to come out in large numbers and exercise their franchise.
The campaign also roped in actress Abhinaya, who is hearing and speech impaired, and visually-challenged singer Shravya Kanithi to encourage the students.
While Abhinaya’s father spoke on her behalf and urged the students to vote, Shravya did what she does best and sang Agar Tum Sath Ho from the movie Tamasha and Sare Jahan Se Achha to put across the message and asked students to make voting the new ‘cool thing’ to do.
