Hyderabad marched to show solidarity with Sri Lankan terror attack victims

Hyderabadis across religions and faiths organised a solidarity walk-cum-candle light vigil on Sunday evening to mourn and condemn the cowardly terror attacks that took place on Easter Sunday in

last month. Holding placards and banners that read slogans such as ‘They want to spin hate, we will bring love’ and ‘No more silence, we choose to end violence’, around 100 people from all walks of life walked from St. Mary’s Basilica to CSI Wesley Church Clock Tower in Secunderabad.

“This candle light march was a walk for unity. Both Christians and Muslims along with people from other faiths walked hand in hand to condemn the attacks in our neighbouring island country. In fact, the Muslims participants offered namaz in the church as they didn’t have the time to visit a mosque and come back for the walk.

This instinctive gesture put across a strong message of unity and brotherhood to the world and made it clear that we don’t want any more bloodshed in the name of religion,” said Paul Devapriyam Pulla, one of the participants.

In a show of solidarity with the victims of the dastardly attacks, many prominent personalities from the city too participated in the walk that included Abid Rasool Khan, former Minorities Commission Chairman, Nawab Najaf Ali Khan, grandson of 7th
