Four maestros, one stage and a mesmerising evening

Music lovers were in for a treat recently when four maestros came together in a free-for-all musical extravaganza. The line-up boasted of the Grammy-award winning, creator of the Mohan Veena — Pt

Vishwa Mohan Bhatt

. And if that wasn’t enough to entice

classical music

fans, Pt

Tarun Bhattacharya

, the santoor maestro who is known as the “master of one hundred strings”, also regaled rasikas.

The first performance of the night was a

jugalbandi

between Pt Ram Kumar Mishra, an exceptional table exponent and Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt on the Mohan Veena.

Following this, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt went on to perform a trigulbandi with Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya on the santoor and Pt

Pravin Godkhindi

on the flute. These maestros enthralled the packed venue with over 700 excited Hyderabadis who applauded them with much gusto.
