City sways to Chithra’s melodies

Hyderabad reverberated with the rhythms of classic songs from Bollywood and Tollywood when legendary playback singer, KS Chithra enthralled the audience at a live concert held in the city recently.

The nightingale of south India, who’s had a rich career spanning 40 years, began the 3-hour concert with her hit number, Nazrein Mil Jaatein Hain from the film, Nigama. The 55-year old, who has worked with musical maestros like Veturi, Ilayaraja, AR Rahman and Keeravani amongst others, left the audience spellbound with her melody and aura on stage.

From the latest hit song Ramanna Katha (NTR Kathanayakudu) and the title song of Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu to the ever popular Mounamgane Yedagamani (Na Autograph), Chithra rendered one melody after another,leaving her listeners spellbound.

She also obliged the audience by singing a couple of her hit Tamil and Kannada songs. Accompanying her on stage were singers, Sri Krishna,
