Celebrities salute Armed Forces on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Celebrating 20 years of India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999 today, a host of Tollywood celebs and sports personalities took to social media to salute the brave hearts who laid down their lives for the nation. From Sai Dharam Tej, Pragyan Ojha to VVS Laxman, a host of prominent names took to social media to post their heartfelt messages acknowledging the
bravery and courage of the Indian Armed Forces. Lauding the valour of the Indian Army, former Indian cricketer Laxman wrote: “I bow down to the sacrifice of the soldiers who reclaimed the peaks, sacrificed their lives and salute the courage and valour of the men and women who stand guard (sic).”

Actor Sai Dharam Tej too took to the micro-blogging site to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers. “Our Flag does not fly because of the wind, but it flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.” Indian Army, Jai Hind (sic),” he wrote. On Friday, #Kargil VijayDiwas and #vijaydiwas are the most trending hastags on social media.
