Arya and Sayyeshaa tie the knot in a royal wedding

It was like a destination wedding in the heart of Hyderabad as actors Arya and Sayyeshaa tied the knot in a grand wedding held at the

Falaknuma Palace

on Sunday. It was a close-knit, intimate affair with only close friends and family in attendance. The wedding celebrations took place over the weekend (March 9 and 10) and was attended by a galaxy of stars including Sanjay Dutt, Allu Arjun, Aditya Pancholi, Sooraj Pancholi, A Sushanth and Shubra Aiyappa, among others.

The sangeet ceremony, held on Saturday, was colourful and lively as the couple shook a leg to peppy Tamil and Bollywood numbers. Given that the wedding was taking place in a palace, there was a royal touch to just about everything — be it the food, décor or costumes. Arya and Sayyeshaa were the cynosure of all eyes, as they sported a matching wedding attire. While the bride donned a white lehenga, sequinned intricately with silver and pink embellishments, the groom looked dapper in a white and silver embroidered designer sherwani with a high-collared jacket. Sayyeshaa also had a long mesh veil attached to the outfit.

“Sayyeshaa was looking like a queen. She looked absolutely stunning and the couple was gorgeous together. At the sangeet, we had a lot of fun dancing to Tamil and Hindi numbers. At one point Arya and Sayyeshaa also joined in and shook a leg. On the afternoon of the wedding, we feasted on a royal luncheon at the 135-year-old historic palace — it was lip-smacking,” shares actress Shubra Aiyappa.

Sayyeshaa, who made her Bollywood debut with Ajay Devgn-starrer Shivaay, met Arya on the sets of Tamil film Ghajinikanth and they hit it off instantly. On Valentine’s Day last month, the duo announced that they would be tying the knot. Sayyeshaa is the grand-niece of Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar. Her mother Shaheen is also an actress and was married to actor-producer Sumeet Saigal from 1990 to 2003.

On Sunday, Sayyeshaa posted pictures with Arya from her wedding celebrations on social media, captioning it: “My love forever.” Arya too shared the same pictures and captioned them “Forever and ever.” Talk about a fairytale Hyderabadi wedding!
