The Saddula Bathukamma procession leading towards Tank Bund was one grand showcase of
Telangana folk art forms that reflected the age-old traditions of the State. Grand flower stacks, some carried by women on the heads, some even on four-wheelers were immersed in Hussain Sagar with much pomp and reverie. The dappulu provided the right impetus to the night as over 850 artistes from the State put up a spectacular show of music and dance, performing chindu, yakshaganam, oggu katha, komma koyya dance, ghusadi and even bhajans to name a few.
It was a sendoff that reaffirmed the cultural richness of the State and the people’s love for Goddess Durga.
