A melange of classical dance forms leaves audience spellbound

Nrityakala Parishadh put together a stunning showcase at Shilparamam recently, featuring both

Bharatanatyam

and

Kathak

performances which left the audience spellbound.

The event started off with an invocatory Ganesh Vandana based on raag Kadyoth Kanthi and continued with a

Guru Vandana

. It was followed by the melody of Raja Raajeshwari Ashtakam composed by Adi Shankaracharya.


The act then transitioned into the Chandrashekaram Kriti which was a salutation to Lord Krishna and kept the audience captivated. This was then followed by a Kathak performance. The typical art of narrating a story through the form of Kathak was brought alive by the traditional form of Tarana by Chandratapa Saha Roy and her students from Nrityam Kathak Kalakshetra.


They Performed Saraswathi Vandana, Ganesha Vandana, Shiva Stuthi and more, producing a beautiful interplay between the bols of the tarana and the sparkling footwork technique of Kathak.
