A celebration of the weird and wonderful world of comics

The seventh edition of Hyderabad Comic Con was an exhilarating experience for comic fans in Hyderabad. Besides the regular events such as cosplaying, gaming and interactive sessions with national and international artists, this year, the annual pop culture event had a few firsts to boast of — standup comedy by Sahil Shah, Rahul Subramanyam and selfie sessions with VJ Zerxes Wadia, to name a few.
The two-day extravaganza attracted a few-thousands of guests who indulged in a number of fun-filled activities apart from filling their shopping carts with loads of cool merchandise. On Day 1, the interactive session with artists Arthur Suydam and Tyler Boss garnered a huge crowd.
Like every year, this year too many Indian artists released their comic books — Blame It On Rahil by Rahil Mohsin, a new series Karma by TBS Planet, latest issue of popular series Caster & The Age of Immortals by Vivek Goel and so on. Sahil tickled the

funny bones

of the audience with his witty set and was ably supported by local boys VIVA. The day ended with Sai Roshan bagging the top prize in the cosplaying competition for accurately imitating Hulk Buster from Avengers: Infinity War.
On Day 2, artist Abhijeet Kini launched his new comic Rhyme Fighter and gave tips to aspiring comic artists. Later in the day, artistes

and Ty Templeton took part in guest sessions and spoke about their journey. Rahul Subramanyam was entrusted with the responsibility of making the gathering laugh and he did a neat job. The event ended on a high when hundreds of cosplayers competed for the top honours in a competition. Sridhar walked away as the winner for cosplaying Monkey King from the Chinese
