A celebration of diverse talents
The stage was set for an uncompromising celebration of talent at St. Mary’s College, Yousufguda, as the Livon
Television-cum-film actor Ali Reza of Gayakudu and Dhruva fame, the celebrity judge for the event, was one among the audience to have been left thoroughly impressed with the talent on show.
From mimicry to stand-up comedy to music, dance, rap, poetry and yoga, the participants left no stone unturned in putting forth their unique talents.
Cricket was one of the hot topics of discussion on stage, and there was a loud cheer from the audience everytime participants came up with inferences and antics imitating popular celebrities and cricketers.
There was never a dull moment with a handful of surprise acts over the course of the two-hour-long round of auditions, which included a Hollywood set to tabla, a composition dedicated to those in long distance relationships, Bollywood numbers being sung and grooved to and a few people doing their bit with aerobics and yoga.
“I am as nervous as you all as I have to select the best of your lot. Witnessing such a wide variety of performances at once was indeed a treat to watch and I enjoyed being one among the crowds to see students unleash the performer in them,” said Ali Reza.
A terrific rendition of Kailash Kher’s popular number Allah Ke Bande ensured top honours to the first year student N Parthiv Yadav among the boys, while Azra Tazeen emerged as the winner among girls as she crooned to Kaun Tujhe from MS Dhoni.
Abhradhwaj Manocha and Mrinali Karthik were adjudged the first runners-up among the boys and girls for their tabla and dance performances respectively. Andre Mathews and Nashrah Omar, who captivated crowds with their vocal skills emerged the second runners-up for the day.
