A celebration filled with colour, laughter and nostalgia

The halls of

Gitam

University reverberated with laughter as students dressed in their

colourful

best to celebrate Ethnic Day on campus recently.

It was a sight to behold as students and teachers flaunted attires that represented the tradition of their respective hometowns. From Bengali sarees, Pathani suits to half-sarees and

South Indian

dhotis and kurtas, it was a

celebration

of the country’s unity in diversity.

That’s not all. The participants also shared the stories behind the attires they were wearing, hence giving a deeper insight into their respective culture and traditions.

For those who were staying away from home, the Ethnic Day made them miss home. “There are times when I get really homesick and miss my family.

Wearing something that represents my hometown on Ethnic Day made me feel really nostalgic,” shares Parth Rawat from Delhi, who wore a black Pathani suit.
After clicking selfies in their colourful outfits, the students also indulged in some fun and games.
