Raahgirs got a dose of power yoga, zumba and kick-boxing at this Sunday’s Raahgiri Day, supported by the Times of India. To spread awareness about the car-free day in Gurgaon on September 22, many came out carrying placards with messages on the importance of using public transportation.
A play on road rage was also enacted near the TOI stage. "We’re looking forward to see how this car-free day in Gurgaon will turn out.
Right now, it seems like impossible given the amount of traffic the city has all the time. But I’m curious to see how successful it will be," said Neelakshi Bhatt, a project manager with an MNC in Gurgaon. Her friend Sukekha added, “I’ll be very glad if we observe car-free day in Cyber City at least once a week. The cars which are parked illegally are a menace, so getting rid of them will help immensely in managing the constant traffic jams there." Raahgirs also saw a power-packed performance by city-based band Rivaaaz, and many also participated in the street cricket, foot-letics, volleygiri and the obstacle run and boot camp.
