Gurgaon students leave audience in awe at their theatre fest
From serious plays on topics like untouchability to satires on modern day life, the two day inter-house
The first day of the fest saw four plays, two each in Hindi and English. The plays were adjudged by eminent theatre personalities likeDebashish Mondal, Hema Bisht Sharma and Shashank Verma. Each performance was of 30 minutes duration.
Soumya Gulati, Deputy Director-Academics, said, “The aim of the fest is to unite students of all classes and foster friendship among them through theatre. For me each of the student participating in the fest are winners.”

play adapted to English as ‘The Imaginary Invalid’. The play revolves around Argan, a hypochondriac, who is always worried about some or the other disease. The play blends satire and farce in a fast moving plot that criticises doctors. Second group performed ‘Arthi’ that highlighted untouchability and caste based discrimination in our country. Another English play ‘The Doctor Himself’ was also adapted from a French play that left audience in splits.
