To celebrate World Habitat Day 08, the Indian Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI— Goa Regional Chapter) hand in hand with the Department of Science, Technology and Environment held a conference at Hotel Nova Goa.
The theme of the event was ‘Harmonious Cities’. Shantaram Naik was invited as the Chief Guest for the event. The welcome address by Morad Ahmad, chairman of ITPI was followed by talks by D D Sunctankar, Datta Naik and S T Puttaraju.
Various planners and architects attended the conference to emphasise the role of town planning and development to make Goa a more humane habitat.

The event was followed by dinner and cocktails during which the attendants discussed the various issues brought up while leaving time for a bit of comic banter.
