The three-day Konkan Fruit Festival held at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao over the weekend saw various exhibitions, lectures and competitions relating to Goan fruits.
Besides bee-keeping, fruit-carving, and fruit-eating workshops and competitions, the locals also got to enjoy performances by several live bands.
"This was a great initiative in Margao. Usually, I have to travel to Panaji for such events," said Antonetta Fernandes, from Margao, adding, "I have learnt so much in these two days.
For example, I never knew one could grow mangoes in a pot, but you can through Bonsai. There was something for every age group here, from fruit-eating competitions, to drawing contests for kids."
