South Goa cyclists go on daily rides to stay fit and stress-free during the pandemic
Several cylicts from South Goa, who are a part of the Xaxti Riders biking community have been going on weekend and daily rides to stay fit and drive their stress away. "Many of us were upset sitting at home. Some of our riders have lost their jobs, businesses aren't doing too well. Everyone is depressed sitting at home," says Sameer Nadkarni, president of the group.
They have their daily 'immunity booster rides' and their weekend ride every Sunday.

"We ride for two hours daily and cross several villages. We avoid busy roads and highways. It's great to meet different people, you get out of your tense mood," says Sameer, adding, "We strictly follow COVID guidelines such as no physical contacts, maintaining safe distance while riding and when off saddle and wearing a mask."

They have around 20 riders join their weekday ride, and around 30 members for their weekend ride. "People from various South Goa villages join in. It's not just restricted to Margao. We either ride along the coastal villages, or places like Cutorim, Chandor and Sarzora," says Sameer.
