Shacks rely on weekend holidayers for business

It hasn't been a great tourist season for shacks, for yet another year. While a lot of shacks in Goa rely on charters and international crowd, the ones that have opened are sailing past with weekend domestic travellers. Cruz Cardozo from Pearl's Beach Cafe and president of Goa Shack Owners Welfare Society says, "Business has been affected since the pandemic, but the long weekend during Holi saw huge crowds.This month, we have seen good crowd during the weekends, since we see a lot of domestic tourists visit Goa for shorter trips. The season hasn't been great, but we are getting past. Some shacks have already started shutting for the season."
