Music and fun at Siolim Sao Joao

Lorna

dazzled the crowd and brought in the fun

Sao Joao

flavour with her much-anticipated performance at the traditional Sao Joao in Siolim on Monday. Though the

event

started in the afternoon, everyone was waiting with excitement for her show. She started with her song Kantaram Kortam, which instantly got people grooving. Some members of the audience used the area in front of the stage to show off some cool salsa and bachata moves.
She followed up with renditions of Abghat Kelo, Calangute and Mogan Podlo. The crowd joined in to sing and asked for more every time she finished her set. Eventually, she crooned to the much-requested Bebdo that got the audience to the floor. The festival, which was attended by thousands, saw an array of live

music

and entertainment, including Johnny B Gud and Bushka belting out some popular

Konkani

numbers.
Other local musicians entertained the crowd with a medley of Konkani songs, some of which were originals. In between, Goa’s favourite comedian from the Konkani stage, John D’silva, along with comedian Kenny, left the audience in splits with their unending and relatable comedy acts. Fashion designer and emcee, Hera Pinto, who is from Mangalore, told us, “This is my second experience of Soa Joao in Siolim, as I was here last year too. This year I got along my entire family here as well.”
