The run, which has earned the distinction of being a 'certified measured course' by World Athletics, a global sports governing body, in co-operation with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, will be assisted by Indian army and navy personnel. Members of the two military wings will also be participating in the event, as well as serving as volunteers enroute the run.

This event will have race categories that include a two-kilometre fun walk, a five-kilometre dream run and timed 10-kilometre and 21-kilometre run.

Over a thousand participants have registered for this year's run so far. Registration for the event, which is scheduled to be held on July 30, closes on July 25.

The run's 9th edition will start at 05:30 am for the 21.1 km run from the Sports Authority of Goa athletics stadium, Bambolim, Goa. The course will take participants to the Miramar Circle, where they will turn around and head back towards the stadium.
